One film for the community. 112 films for the people in it.
Wild Mosaic wanted every subscriber to see their own impact. We made one end-of-year film, then a personal version for each of them, automatically.
The client
Wild Mosaic is a rewilding subscription. Each member, called a Rewilder, follows their own 3 m × 3 m plot as it grows wilder.
The brief
Founder Jon Conradi wanted every subscriber to see their own impact, in a film they'd actually want to watch. Totals for the whole community felt distant. But making a personal film for each person by hand wouldn't scale.
What we made
Two layers:
- The community film (1 min 48 s): the story of the year, told for everyone.
- A personal reel for each Rewilder (55 s): a cut of the same film with a data screen in the middle showing their plot name, their tile name, the community's total, and their own share of it.
How we built it
We perfected one reel first: how the numbers count up, where names and figures sit, how long each moment holds. Then we built a template in Cavalry so each Rewilder's data flowed in automatically, and tested it against the awkward cases: very long names, and very big and very small numbers.
Delivered
-
1
Community impact film (1 min 48 s)
-
112
Personalised reels (55 s, 1080 × 1080, made for sharing on social)
The result
Every subscriber got a film about their own impact, not the company's. The template and data pipeline can run again next year, or for other moments in a Rewilder's year.
One film tells people what their community achieved. A personal one tells each of them they were part of it.
“It was great working with the Two Degrees team. They were open and receptive to exploring different ideas, and kept me in the loop throughout the process so that I felt engaged and in control. Delighted with the end result. Thank you!”
